FACILITY
MANAGEMENT
Concept Schools design
school buildings, which
are practical, conducive,
and excellent learning
environments. At the same
time, Concept Schools
recognizes the importance
of building facilities
that are cost-efficient,
yet appealing, warm and
safe.
As a result of years of
operation and experience
in multiple campuses and
several renovation/transformation
of buildings, it has become
clear what makes a great
building. Each year, our
buildings are reviewed
and strengths improved
as future buildings are
prepared.
Designing a facility for
programs focusing on science,
math and technology is
a costly project. These
schools foster and model
creative connections and
synthesis, skills that
students need to succeed.
Research on design features
for science academy model
includes 32 design
features that support
its program. Including
among those are:
*Variable sized spaces
*Access to technology
*Presentation space
*Science laboratory
*Chemistry laboratory
*Physics laboratory
*Advanced science laboratory
(i.e. genetic)
*Display spaces
*Multi media library
Starting
a school from scratch
is not an easy task, by
keeping that in mind Concept
Schools approaches creatively
to use spaces in effectively
way to minimize the facility
start-up cost. Most of
our schools use small
space by high school standards-typically
about 70 square feet per
student, which would equal
about 150 square feet.
However, location is chosen
closely of public libraries,
recreational facilities,
and universities, so that
schools can leverage other
facilities for its instruction
and recreational needs.
