Horizon Science Academy opens new campus in Austintown

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Parents have gained another option to send their young ones to school.

Horizon Science Academy has opened a second campus in the Austintown area.

This is the school’s first year and it is offering classes for grades kindergarten to second. They held their open house for incoming parents and students Saturday with a meet-the-teacher event on Aug. 16.

It’s a public charter school with a focus on STEM.

Enrollment is still open, and they plan on adding another grade each year.

“We’re very excited about it,” Assistant Principal Cindy Bova said. “It’s a positive thing for the area and a lot of parents are excited that have already enrolled their students because it’s something different, and it gives them that smaller classroom.”

The first day of class for the new campus is Aug, 19.

Tuition is free and registration is online.
