Gateway Science Academy Middle Awarded $10,000 STEM Grant

Gateway Science Academy is proud to announce that it has been awarded a $10,000 Project Lead the Way and Emerson Grant thanks to STEM educator Jessica Maybearry. The grant is given out to schools looking to start or expand their PLTW courses and bring STEM education to more students.

Maybearry is excited for what the grant will do for GSA Middle and its students.

"Gateway Science Academy Middle School began offering PLTW courses to students nearly six years ago," Maybearry said in a statement. "The program has provided middle schoolers with a real-world, STEM-focused curriculum that continues to allow them to explore problem solving through engineering. Thanks to the very generous Emerson STEAM Grant, we will be expanding offerings for the upcoming school year and beyond."

The grant will allow GSA Middle to further diversify PLTW offerings with some new courses. It will also help the school purchase much-needed updates for its existing resources and programming. The school is especially looking forward to expanding into PLTW: Automation and Robotics which will bring more learning opportunities for students and enhance an already amazing award-winning robotics program.
