Besides the communication skills, the students learn about the world's peoples' different lifestyles and cultures and gain an awareness of their own language and culture by comparing the language studied to their own language. Outside the regular program, Art and Language Festival is the FL Department's most popular extracurricular activity which gives the students the opportunity to sing songs in the target language and perform the dances of the people of the target language.
